On 13 October I’ll be in Bristol for Get Ready, Get Paid, Get Growing, a free one-day event for estate and letting agents hosted by ICG Property at We The Curious, running from 10am to 4pm.

What the day covers

The event is aimed at agency owners and managers, and it’s organised around three sessions. The first looks at where the Government’s reforms to material information, sales packs and property logbooks have reached. The second deals with getting paid faster, and argues that the process starts at the valuation rather than at sale agreed. The third focuses on building a profitable agency: knowing your true cost of service, protecting margin and charging with confidence.

Between sessions, there’s time set aside for one-to-one conversations with proptech and service suppliers.

Why we’re going

Margins are under pressure, the regulatory workload keeps growing, and most agencies are looking for ways to earn more from the work they already do. That’s a big part of what this event is about, and it’s a conversation we’re keen to be part of.

For agents, it means you can offer tenants a choice at the point of let, without changing how the branch runs the rest of the tenancy. Tenants pay a non-refundable fee for the insurance instead of finding a lump sum deposit, and landlords keep cover up to the standard deposit value.
